A venue for hire that does live music nights and takes on private parties for pretty much any occasion, from birthdays to wakes.

This is the sort of place you book rather than just turn up to. The Springhead does live music and themed party nights as a regular thing, so if you fancy an evening out with a bit of a gig atmosphere rather than a quiet pub corner, that's the draw.

Where it earns its keep is private hire. They list birthdays, retirements, christenings, weddings, fundraisers and wakes among the events they'll take on, which tells you they're set up to handle a proper range of group sizes and moods, not just the standard eighteenth. Getting the same room to work for a christening one week and a stag do the next takes some doing, so it's worth asking how they'd set things up for your particular event when you call.

There's on-site food and parking, and it's dog friendly, which matters if a family gathering means someone's bringing the dog along regardless. Party rooms are part of the offer too, useful if you want your group kept separate from anyone else in for the live music that night.

There's no booking link. Given the spread of events they cover, from wakes to weddings, it's worth being clear about what you want when you contact them, since a fortieth birthday and a retirement do probably need different treatment.
