What it’s like
A day-long holiday club in Bristol mixing sports, swimming and craft sessions for school-age kids, 9am to 3.30pm.
Term-time this is a school run. Holidays, it's Shine, and the day runs 9am to 3.30pm with kids moving between multi-sports, swimming and gymnastics depending on what's on that day. There's football and dance workshops too, so a fidgety seven-year-old who hates sitting still gets plenty to do without ever landing on the same activity twice in a week.
The bit they'll actually talk about at tea time is the creative side. Junk modelling, art and Lego building all get a slot, and the Creepy Creative Workshops (yes, that's a real session name) run at £35, which gives you a rough sense of what a themed day costs even if the standard daily rate isn't listed here.
Booking is not optional. Every child needs to be signed up and registered before they can join a session or even go on the waiting list, so if you're planning around a specific week, sort it early rather than turning up on spec. Shine is Ofsted registered, which also means childcare vouchers are accepted, useful if you're juggling this against actual work commitments.
One thing to flag: the refund policy only gives you a 48 hour window, so a change of plan close to the date could mean losing the fee.
