What it’s like
Weekly dance and drama classes for young people in Belfast, with proper stage shows to work towards.
This is a performing arts school built around weekly dance and drama classes, aimed at young people rather than little kids. Alongside the regular sessions there are dance masterclasses and, crucially, actual productions to aim for, so classes lead somewhere rather than just being practice for its own sake.
Two shows give a good sense of what's on offer. Snow White, a pantomime, is £10 for adults and £6 for under 18s, which is decent value for a live show with your own kid or their mates on stage. Gold Medal Mary sits at the other end, £20 full price and £10 concession, so it reads as the more grown-up, ticketed production rather than a school panto.
Age-wise this is firmly for the 9 to 25 bracket. If your child is at the younger end of that range, a pantomime like Snow White is probably the gentler first show to go and watch before committing to weekly classes, and the masterclasses are worth asking about once they've settled into the regular sessions.
