What it’s like
Free grounds to wander with views over the Bristol Channel, plus a café for cake when the legs give out.
There's no ticket to buy here. You just turn up, park for free and let the kids loose on the parkland, which rolls out into proper views across the Bristol Channel once you're up past the house. It's not a hands-on attraction with buttons to press or animals to feed, it's a stroll, so it suits a family who fancies fresh air over a packed itinerary.
The grounds are the whole point, and they're doing a decent job of it: grass, gravel and woodland paths, mostly level, with the stretch from the car park to the house described as firm but a bit uneven in spots, worth bearing in mind if you've got a buggy with small wheels. The house itself is only accessible on the ground floor by lift-free means at the minute, first floor is stairs only until they get a lift in by early 2026, so if you were hoping to explore upstairs rooms with little ones that's off the table for now.
Food-wise it's a café rather than a restaurant, doing coffee, cake, traybakes and biscuits, open every morning and into the afternoon. The kitchen itself only runs Wednesday to Sunday until mid-July, when it switches to all week, so a Monday or Tuesday visit means cake but not a hot meal. Dogs are welcome on leads throughout the grounds and even in the front café space, which is a nice touch if you're bringing the family dog along for the walk too.
One thing to watch is the car park closing at dusk, so this isn't the spot for a long summer evening wander that drifts past sunset. And since it's a working venue for private events as well, there's a chance parts of the grounds are closed off when you visit.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book or buy tickets?
No, the grounds and café are open to everyone, seven days a week. Just be aware some areas might be closed off if there's a private event on.
Is it free?
Entry to the grounds is free and parking on site is free too.
Is it OK for a buggy or wheelchair?
Most of the terrain is level grass, gravel and woodland path, and the route from car park to house is firm underfoot, though a bit uneven in places. The café and disabled bathroom have level access and wider doors.
Can we go inside the house?
The ground floor and café are accessible, but the first floor is currently stairs only. A lift is planned for early 2026.
What food is there?
The café does coffee, cake, traybakes and biscuits, open mornings into the afternoon every day. The kitchen for proper food runs Wednesday to Sunday, moving to all seven days from mid-July.
Can we bring the dog?
Dogs are welcome on leads throughout the grounds and even in the front café space, as long as you clean up after them.
Is there parking?
There's a free car park opposite Napier Miles Road, but it closes at dusk, so don't plan a late evening visit.
