What it’s like
Hop on and off an open-top bus round 19 Belfast stops, with Titanic Belfast and the Giants Causeway thrown in as add-ons.
The bus is the backbone of the day: an open-top loop round 19 stops with commentary telling you what you're looking at, and a ticket that lets you jump off wherever something catches your eye and pick up the next one later. Do the full loop without stopping and it's about 90 minutes, but that's not really the point of a hop-on hop-off ticket, is it. The obvious stop to build a day around is number 5, Titanic Belfast, which the site reckons takes most people 2 to 3 hours across its ten galleries and six floors, plus the Shipyard Ride if your kids want more than just looking at exhibits.
Straight bus-only tickets are £19 for an adult and £12 for a child (15 and under), or £62 for two adults and three kids on a one-day family ticket, which isn't bad if you're a bigger group. Add Titanic Belfast to the mix and it jumps to £42.50 for an adult and £24 for a child, and if you fancy going further afield there's a combo with Giants Causeway too, where the tour includes a climb over the ancient stones and a walk out to Carrick a Rede rope bridge. Stack all three (bus, Titanic, Causeway) and you're looking at £70 for an adult, which is a proper day trip's worth of money but also a proper day trip's worth of stuff.
One thing worth knowing before you commit: there are no toilets on the Belfast city buses themselves, though the tour makes regular free stops where you can find one. If you're heading to Titanic Belfast there's a café on site doing sandwiches, soups and pastries, and the buses themselves are wheelchair accessible, though it's worth getting in touch ahead of time if you've got specific mobility needs. Tickets run 10am to 4:30pm in summer and 10am to 3:30pm in winter, and losing your ticket means you don't get a replacement, so it's the sort of thing to keep somewhere sensible rather than loose in a coat pocket.

Plan your visit
How much does the bus tour cost?
£19 for an adult and £12 for a child (15 and under) on a one-day ticket. A family ticket for two adults and three children is £62.
Do we need to book ahead?
Booking isn't required for the bus itself, though for Titanic Belfast you might need to pick an entry time in advance, especially in peak season.
How long does the full bus loop take?
About 90 minutes if you stay on for the whole thing without hopping off anywhere.
Is Titanic Belfast included in the ticket?
Only if you buy the combo ticket, £42.50 for an adult and £24 for a child. The standalone bus ticket doesn't cover it.
How long should we allow for Titanic Belfast?
Most people spend 2 to 3 hours across the ten galleries, though you can stay longer if you want.
Are there toilets on the bus?
No, the Belfast city buses don't have onboard toilets, but the tour stops regularly at places where you can find one for free.
Is the bus wheelchair accessible?
The buses are accessible, and they recommend contacting them in advance if you've got specific mobility requirements.
Can we start at Titanic Belfast instead of the main stop?
You can join at any of the 19 stops. Titanic Belfast is stop 5, so that works fine as a starting point.
What if we lose our ticket?
Lost tickets aren't replaced or refunded, so it's worth keeping it somewhere you won't drop it.
Where do we park?
On-street parking nearby is £1.20 an hour, free on Sundays and after 6pm, with a one to three hour limit. There are private car parks around too.
