What it’s like
A prison-themed cocktail night where you smuggle in your own booze and actors run the whole show around you.
You get handed an orange jumpsuit at the door and put in a cell for the night, and from there it's actors doing most of the work. The Warden, the guards, an inmate called Cassidy, they build a storyline around your group for the full hour and forty-five minutes. You can join in or just watch it happen from your cell, which is handy if you're not the type to play along with strangers.
The gimmick that actually makes this worth the money is the drinks. You bring your own unopened bottle of spirits, they take it away and turn it into three cocktails made by their mixologists, mixers and all included in the £44 ticket. Forget your bottle or turn up with something already opened and there's no cocktail, so check that before you leave the house. Non-drinkers get three mocktails instead and by the sound of it the storyline doesn't change either way, so nobody's left out of the plot.
One cell holds six or seven people, and if your group's smaller than that you might end up sharing with people you've never met. They pitch it as a chance to make new friends rather than an awkward squeeze, and honestly for a night like this that tracks better than most forced mingling. Just don't book expecting a private booth.
It's 18 and over only, so this one's a night out without the kids rather than a family trip. Bookings run Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays, and Friday and Saturday nights stretch later than the rest of the week. There's no cancelling once you've booked, only rescheduling, and the notice period depends on group size, so read the small print before you commit to a date.
