All Aboard for Christmas

A festive steam train ride, Santa's grotto and Christmas crafts at Whitehead Railway Museum this December.

All Aboard for Christmas brings a traditional festive railway experience to Whitehead Railway Museum, starting with a 10-minute steam train ride around the museum grounds where Santa's elves join you on board. Back at the station there's a letter to write and post to Santa, a chance to meet Mrs Claus, and a visit to Santa's own grotto where every child gets a present. Children can also decorate a gingerbread person and make a bag of reindeer food to take home. The cafe is open throughout for refreshments, and the carriage shed is open to explore during your visit. Spaces are limited and these Christmas dates sell out, so early booking is recommended, and visitors are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before their allocated time slot as trains can't be held for late arrivals. Tickets are £16.50 for adults and £23 for children, with family tickets also available (plus a £1 per basket booking fee).
