A hands-on museum workshop for small groups exploring how money has changed over time.
This is a school-booking workshop at Museum on the Mound, led by a member of the Museum team for groups of up to 15 learners. It can be adapted for different ages and abilities, and runs with a flexible start time lasting one to two hours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Learners get stuck into real artefacts and activities exploring unusual currencies from around the world, finding out how coins are made and striking their own replica Medieval coin, and investigating banknotes to uncover their design and security features. It needs to be booked in advance as a school visit rather than turning up on the day.
