Deaf Youth Theatre

Weekly accessible theatre group at Derby Theatre for Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing young people.

Derby Theatre runs a fully accessible weekly theatre group for young people who are Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing, and their friends, on Wednesdays from 5pm to 6:30pm. The group is led by Donna, the Deaf Youth Theatre Leader, and like the other Youth Theatre groups works towards an annual show staged at Derby Theatre. The source lists the age range for this group as 10-16 in the main youth theatre listings, though elsewhere on the page it is described as being for ages 10-18, so it is worth confirming the current age range when you get in touch. Places are in demand and there is a waiting list for all Youth Theatre groups, so anyone interested needs to download and complete the application form and email it to the venue to register interest. General Youth Theatre pricing is listed as £390 per academic year or £39 per month, though this is not confirmed as specific to the Deaf Youth Theatre group.
