Beginner's Watercolour Course (Tuesdays)

A six-session beginner's watercolour course on Tuesdays, taught by artist Claire Linge.

This course runs on Tuesdays during term time and takes you through the basic principles of watercolour painting, whether you fancy having a go at still life, landscapes or portraits. It's led by the museum's Learning Officer and commissioned artist Claire Linge, who guides participants through technique and how to develop their own style over the run of around six sessions. The price includes some basic materials to start you off, but after the first session or two you'll need to bring your own watercolour paper, paints and brushes. It costs £70 for the course, with tickets available online or from the museum shop during normal opening hours (Thursday to Sunday, 11am-4pm). This is aimed at adults wanting to learn or build on watercolour skills from scratch.
