Science & Discovery Centres in Bristol

We The Curious on Millennium Square is the obvious start, a planetarium and science centre right in the middle of Bristol, with over 200 hands-on exhibits at Double Puc from £4 for ages 2 and up, plus 3D shows for children who can sit still that long. For something quieter, there is a drive out to Bath for the Herschel Museum of Astronomy, the actual Georgian house where William Herschel spotted Uranus from his back garden, tickets from £11. If budget matters, Double Puc's £4 entry beats most days out, and the picnics-allowed policy means you are not tied to the cafe. Toddlers do best at We The Curious, with baby change and lockers on site. Older children who like a proper hunt should try Somerset Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum, a longer trip out to Radstock, where two trails send them after an ammonite and a miner's missing tools, from £3 and with parking on site. The Herschel house suits calmer, sensory-friendly visits, with quiet sessions available.
